A homeowner from the Springmill Crossing subdivision in Carmel needed an exterior overhaul due to damage from persistent woodpeckers who pecked holes and were building a nest in the home’s old T11 siding. Wood rot was also a problem. Two of the customer’s neighbors had worked with JD Hostetter due to similar damage to their homes. The new customer consulted with her neighbors who were delighted with their new siding and decided to work with JD Hostetter as well.
Woodpeckers and wood rot are no match for James Hardie siding
Woodpeckers love to drill holes in all types of wood home facades. Wood rot is also a frequent culprit of damage to T11 siding. The Springmill Crossing customer’s home showed all of the typical signs of woodpecker damage and wood rot: small and large holes, mold, and water damage. We employed our meticulous process, including a Hover 3D model of their home and multiple consultations to help her visualize what different colors and types of siding would look like on her home. The customer chose pest-resistant, durable James Hardie ColorPlus siding and trims.
James Hardie fiber cement siding is made with a blend of cement, sand, and cellulose fibers for maximum strength. The ColorPlus technology resists fading and chipping and requires minimal maintenance.
In addition to replacing the siding, we painted the existing trims to match the new exterior with Sherwin Wiliams paint. We gave her a detailed brief on what to expect regarding the project’s flow and timeline and it proceeded exactly as planned.
