What Is the Guildmaster Award?
For the past 16 years, GuildQuality, a third-party customer satisfaction surveying company, has awarded the Guildmaster Award to GuildQuality members who consistently display excellent customer care each year.
Winners include a select number of new home builders, remodelers, replacement contractors, restoration contractors, and specialty contractors across the United States and Canada. JD Hostetter is proud to be included in this year’s list of winners for replacement contractors!
How Did We Win the 2021 Guildmaster Award?
Wondering what it takes to win the Guildmaster Award? Here are the three necessary qualifications a company must meet to be considered for this honor:
1. Active GuildQuality Member
To be considered for the Guildmaster Award, a company must be an active GuildQuality member in good standing between the award start date and end date for review.
For example, the 2021 Guildmaster Award that JD Hostetter just won opened in November 2020 and closed mid-year in 2021. However, the company looks at customer data from the entire year of 2020 to determine who qualifies for the award.

2. High Recommendation Rate
Another factor used to determine the Guildmaster recipients are the recommendation ratings awarded by customers.
According to customer surveys, most companies have a “Likely to Recommend” score of 70 percent. To qualify for the Guildmaster Award, companies must have a “Likely to Recommend” score of at least 90 percent.
We’re pleased to share that JD Hostetter has a “Likely to Recommend” score on 96 percent of reviews! Companies that score 95 percent to 97.9 percent in this category, like JD Hostetter, earn the unique honor of the Guildmaster Award with Distinction.
3. Number of Survey Responses
Finally, the amount of surveys a company receives impacts its ability to qualify for the Guildmaster Award.
GuildQuality members must have at least 20 responses total to qualify for the award. The company examines answers from the previous calendar year first, then evaluates prior years, if necessary. In addition to the minimum number of surveys, each company must have a survey response rate of at least 50 percent.
JD Hostetter has surveyed 271 customers, and 170 customers have responded. This response rate of 62.7 percent comfortably qualified our company for the Guildmaster Award.
